Meet the Envol Team: Rikka Bouseh

Envol is all about its people. Obviously. So naturally we love sharing our incredible team with you – they’re just too great to keep to ourselves! Read on to meet Rikka, our Senior People Strategist. She’s an HR queen and quality human being.

Q: What’s your story?

A: I’m originally from Ontario, but I’ve been living (and loving) BC for the last 10 years. In those 10 years (and then some), I’ve been advancing my HR experience. Inevitably, it has led me right here to Envol!

On a more personal note, I love to dance, cook, and bake. Not at the same time. I mean, if I could I would. And to top it all off, I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life a year ago!

Q: What’s your favourite thing about working for Envol?

A: I love Envol’s approach to brand and HR strategies. Everything about it is people-focused, which aligns perfectly with my core values.

Q: What do you love most about working in HR?

A: Helping people. I get to help organizations and individuals grow through strategic HR practices.

Q: What do you think is the most exciting HR trend today?

A: HR used to be perceived as the “People Problems Department.” These days, HR is recognized as adding true value and ROI to a company through targeted HR initiatives.

Q: What makes you you?

A: I’m a pretty down to earth person. I believe in building trust and true relationships with people – both personally and professionally. Let’s just say I’ve had a lot of practice. Being a supportive wife, friend, sister, aunt, and professional is the crux of who I am. There are no bells, no whistles. What you see is what you get!

I’m told I’m usually the loudest in the room. But at Envol, I’m often rivalled by Brianna… her laugh is next-level infectious!

Q: What do you do when you’re not at work?

A: I’ll start with saying I spend most of my spare time sharing my life with my friends and family. I’ll follow by saying I also spend a lot of that time eating or drinking wine.

On a less enjoyable note, I also dedicate some of my time to working out or jogging. Again, unenjoyable.

Q: What are you great at?

A: They say pressure makes diamonds. And I think that perfectly sums up my strengths. My greatest ability is to take on a high volume of work while still making sure our clients feel valued. I streamline processes and procedures to create value – which ultimately increases productivity and profit.

Now for my real talent. I am a KILLER karaoke star. Long story short, my “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” may even rival Whitney’s. Yup.

Q: Where’s your happy place?

A: On the couch, watching TV with my husband. And a glass of wine. There must be a glass of wine.

Until next time!

Thank you, Rikka, for infecting us with your lightheartedness. We’ll have to take you up on some karaoke for our next team party
